D-Link launches 4-Bay Cloud Network Storage Enclosure for SOHO Cloud storage solution

D-Link DNS-340L ShareCentre + 4-Bay Cloud Network Storage Enclosure
The Latest SOHO Cloud Storage Solution to Keep Important Data Safe within a Personal Cloud

D-Link has added to their Network Storage Enclosure family with the DNS-340L ShareCentre + 4-Bay Cloud Network Storage Enclosure. An easy-to-use solution for accessing, sharing, and backing up important data, the high-powered network attached storage (NAS) does so allows one to create a personal cloud for greater security. It comes with multiple RAID options (data storage virtualization technologies) to ensure that data is stored safely, while still easily accessible at one’s fingertips.

Powerful Performance and Flexibility for Different Storage Needs

A plethora of different hard drive modes are available, allowing users to choose the configuration best suited to their needs. The standard mode creates two separately accessible hard drives. The JBOD setting combines both drives to create a single, easy-to-use storage system with greater volume, while the various RAID modes provide layers of protection for data storage security. Also hot swap-enabled, the gadget allows for easy replacement of failed hard drives with automatic copying of data onto the new drive. This allows the ShareCentre to function at its full level without any interruptions or system shutdown necessary even when components need to be replaced.

File Sharing at Your Fingertips from Anywhere
The NAS includes a web-enabled file server that allows one to download documents, photos and other multimedia files from anywhere. The web interface also categorizes files according to type for easy searching and retrieving of data. Alternatively, users can login to the
mydlink Access – NAS app that is available for free on Apple App Store and Google Play. The app allows users to access, stream music and videos, and view files and documents directly on one’s mobile devices over the air from the NAS. The app also allows for uploading of data from one’s smart device to the ShareCenter. Part of the mydlink ecosystem, the portal also allows managers to configure settings for file sharing, and eliminates the need with complicated network authorizations to enable remote access for users.

Fuss-Free Digital Media Streaming with a Built-in Media Server
Digital media files can be backed up to the ShareCenter for safekeeping with the pre-installed Digital Living Network Alliance (DLNA)-certified Universal Plug and Play (UPnP) Audio Visual media server. Digital content on the NAS can be streamed to compatible media players such as a smart TV or Microsoft Xbox 360 or to one’s mobile devices remotely.

Straightforward Installation and Setup for IT Managers
The DNS-340L is able to accept 3.5” internal serial AT attachment (SATA) hard drives up to 4TB per bay. Installing the drives is as simple as removing the top to access the drive bays, attaching the hard drive holders, and then sliding them into place. The two USB2.0 and one USB3.0 ports on the ShareCenter can also be used to attach a multifunction USB printer, an Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS), or an external USB storage drive.

When combined with a D-Link cloud router, the NAS can also take advantage of the Zero Configuration Setup that comes with D-Link’s family of cloud routers. This Zero Configuration technology greatly simplifies the setting up process of the device. It’s as simple selecting the hard drive mode preferred, and Zero Configuration will complete the setup.

The D-Link DNS-340L ShareCenter + 4-Bay Cloud Network Storage Enclosure will be available in Q4 2014 at all authorized retailers.
