Nissan Philippines donates two vehicles to Habitat for Humanity

Nissan Philippines Inc (NPI), through its president Antonio Zara, recently turned over two units of their best-selling vehicles to Habitat for Humanity Philippines. The donated vehicles consisted of one all-new NP300 Navara pickup and one all-new NV350 Urvan.

Accepting on behalf of the nonprofit organization was their Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Charlito S. Ayco.

“We are grateful to Nissan Philippines for their selfless gift,” Ayco acknowledged, after the simple turn-over ceremony held at Nissan North EDSA in Balintawak, Quezon City.

“These vehicles will be used for the ReStore Program and disaster response activities.” ReStore is Habitat for Humanity’s nonprofit home improvement stores and donation centers that sell new and gently used furniture, home accessories, building materials, and appliances to the public at a fraction of the retail price. Proceeds from sales are used for Habitat for Humanity’s housing programs and disaster response efforts.

For their part, Zara commented, “We admire Habitat for Humanity for their drive in improving the lot of our fellow Filipinos, and we decided to concretize our support for them through this gesture.”

NPI has also pledged to build four core houses in Bistekville 5, Barangay Payatas in Quezon City, as well as help out 56 families in Oras, Eastern Samar by giving house repair kits for families whose residences were damaged by typhoons.

“We also intend to mobilize volunteers to participate in House Builds on site,” Zara added.

Zara also mentioned that the partnership is Nissan’s way of paying it forward. He credits the company’s successes such as the record-breaking sales during the 2nd quarter of the year, the culmination of the GT Academy, where the 6 first ever Filipino finalists will be pitting against other Asian countries for a spot in the professional racing scene, as visible markers that “Nissan is definitely back.”
