Brother Philippines, Go Negosyo upgrade Davaoeños, Cebuanos’ entrepreneurial skills with free embroidery course

Davao Seminar

Brother International Philippines Corporation (Brother Philippines), a leader in home and business IT peripherals, in partnership with entrepreneurship advocate Go Negosyo, recently held a seminar each in Davao and Cebu this September to teach actual and aspiring entrepreneurs how to start their own embroidery business, while giving their entrepreneurial spirit a boost.

The embroidery-cum-entrepreneurship course featured hands-on embroidery training and actual product demonstration, as well as a talk on how a “Go Negosyo” mindset can be a means to improve one’s socio-economic standing and, on a bigger scale, eradicate poverty in the Philippines.

The Davao seminar was held in the last week of September in one of the city’s premier hotels; while the Cebu leg was held a few days later in Cebu City.

The Brother-Go Negosyo Embroidery Course was offered to individuals with actual embroidery or embroidery related business, or those with strong interest to have one.

Go Negosyo founder Joey Concepcion said that partnering with Brother has opened up a rich selection of technology-centric trainings that well serve their mission to equip Filipinos with negosyo (business) skills.

For his part, Brother President Glenn P. Hocson said that the embroidery seminars will help the company further fulfil its advocacy to promote Filipino craftsmanship and profitable livelihood.

“Through our business-ready products like our embroidery machines, as well as our partnership with Go Negosyo, we hope to propagate the spirit of entrepreneurship to more Filipinos, which we see as key to enabling progress nationwide,” said Hocson.

The workshops featured a product demonstration of Brother's Entrepreneur PR655 advanced six-needle embroidery machine, the next generation of state-of-the-art multi-needle embroidery.
Business-minded professionals and avid hobbyists alike will love the powerful PR655 embroidery machine, which features an array of functions including an extra-large embroidery area – 300 x 200mm, a high definition ASV (Advanced Super View) LCD touch screen, and a fully automatic needle threading.

The computerized embroidery machine also delights with its new LED droplight embroidery positioning marker that shows users the needle drop position with pinpoint accuracy, thus allowing for perfect embroidery results. The machine also boasts of an expanded selection of built-in embroidery designs and fonts.

For the Davao seminar, one of Go Negosyo's teaching Angelpreneurs – best-selling author, award-winning entrepreneur and sought-after speaker Eduardo “Ardy” O. Roberto, Jr. — gave the talk on how to have the “success mindsets of entrepreneurs”.

On the other hand, giving the talk on entrepreneurship for Cebu seminar participants was another Go Negosyo Speaker or Angelpreneur, Glenn N. Baticados, Director at UP Los Baños Center for Technology and Entrepreneurship.
