Honda Collects Wins at the 2015 STV Auto Rally Corporate Challenge Leg 2

Honda Cars Philippines, Inc. (HCPI), joined the second leg of the Sunshine Television Auto Rally Corporate Challenge (STV ARCC) and emerged as the Overall 1st runner-up. Honda’s team also went home with two more awards for two perfect-time runs for the Leg 2 (Subic). This event was led by Sunshine Television (STV) with the focus on promoting road safety.

The annual Auto Rally Corporate Challenge mainly focuses on precision driving rather than speed with its very nature being “on time all the time”. This event tested both the driving and navigation skills of the participants by setting routes where teams have to follow a particular pace and reach checkpoints in the allotted time. Following this, STV enforced strict obedience to traffic rules and regulations by considering any infraction as an automatic disqualification.

The event flagged off last December 2015 at the Harbor Point Mall, Subic Bay Freeport Zone, Zambales. Honda’s team was composed of 3 groups against 28 other groups from other car companies. Honda brought in the Mobilio 1.5 V CVT driven by Patrick Tulfo, Ronald Delos Reyes, and Randy Peregrino of Business Mirror, the City 1.5 E CVT Special Edition driven by Indi Singh, and Towpy Tejano, DJs from Mellow 94.7, as well as Katrina Golfo from YES! Fm 101.1, while HCPI employees, Al Bato, Prince Pullo and Tricia Epilepsia, took the HR-V 1.8 EL MUGEN. Team members enjoyed the friendly competition as well as all the different obstacles. According to Indi Singh, “The car responded really well to the challenges ahead especially with the winding roads we had to navigate through. The handling was superb and no question about the braking safety. I’m sure these contributed the good numbers we were able to post on the board of the team.”

Honda values safe driving and has a strong sense of obligation rooted in the company’s safety philosophy of “delivering safety in every vehicle”.

Honda is proud of all of its accomplishments. With a heritage of racing and the principles of competition, it faces tasks head on with teamwork and efficiency. Honda’s challenging spirit lives on through its associate’s efforts and the continuous growth of the company.
