Windows 8 Consumer Preview is now available to download



Microsoft just announced at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona that the Windows 8 Consumer Preview is now available to download for anyone interested in trying it out. If you want to try it out, the Windows 8 Consumer Preview ISO files are about 2.5GB in size for the 32-bit and 3.3GB for the 64-bit.

Update: Microsoft's Building Windows 8 Twitter account (@BuildWindows8) just tweeted that the Windows 8 Consumer Preview has been downloaded over one million times in one day.

Windows 8 Consumer Preview System Requirements:
- 1 GHz or faster processor
- 1 GB RAM (32-bit) or 2 GB RAM (64-bit)
- 16 GB available hard disk space (32-bit) or 20 GB (64-bit)
- DirectX 9 graphics device with WDDM 1.0 or higher driver
- 1024 x 768 minimum screen resolution

Once downloaded, just burn the ISO disc image to a DVD or copying it to a USB flash drive.

Note:
- In order to use the Snap feature, you will need a PC with a 1366x768 resolution or higher.
- To access Windows Store and to download and run apps, you need an active Internet connection and a screen resolution of at least 1024 x 768.
