Apple just announced that the next-generation iPad isn't called the iPad 3, iPad 2S or the iPad HD, but it is now called the new iPad. By looking at Apple's new iPad you will notice that its the same design with the iPad 2, but the new one is slightly thicker at 9.4mm and heavier at 1.44lbs.

The new features Apple has introduced to the new iPad, first is the 9.7-inch Retina display with a 2048x1536 resolution and a 264ppi, second is the A5X processor and quad-core graphics chip which Apple even claims that the new processor can deliver four times the performance of Nvidia's Tegra 3, third is the 5-megapixel iSight camera which features a backside illuminated sensor with a five element lens and can record 1080p videos, fourth is the brand new voice dictation key that lets you speak instead of type, just like on Android and the last is the 4G LTE support.

Even with all this features Apple is still claiming to get 10 hours of battery life. The new iPad will be available on March 16th, starting at $499 for the 16GB WiFi model, the 32GB and 64GB will be $599 and $699.
