Smart expands its bestselling Unli Social Plan 349 to include two new smartphones

Moving up to postpaid and getting on the smartphone ‘bandwagon’ is now easier than ever. Wireless leader Smart Communications, Inc. (Smart ) has expanded its bestselling Unli Social Plan 349 to include two new smartphones -- the Netphone 501 and the Samsung Galaxy Pocket.

One of the telco’s fastest-growing and best-selling postpaid variants, the Unli Social Plan 349 allows subscribers to send an unlimited number of text messages to more than 50 million Smart or Talk ‘N Text numbers anywhere in the country. They can do this at any time of the day, without ever having to register, at only P349 per month.

The plan also comes with Unli Social Stream, which allows users to chat, and check or update their Facebook and Twitter feeds, for free. They can do these via SmartNet, a Smart-developed application which comes pre-loaded on every handset bundled with the Unli Social Plan 349.

“The Unli Call and Text 349 plan simply offers the best combination of value and quality. Subscribers can text with the biggest network in the country while staying actively engaged in their social networks 24/7,” said Kathryn Carag, Smart Postpaid Marketing Head.

“More importantly, they can rely on Smart’s network for nationwide coverage and real-time delivery of text messages,” added Carag.

To make the upgrade to postpaid more attractive, the Unli Social Plan 349 now comes with a free Netphone 501, or a Samsung Galaxy Pocket, for a one-time payment of P495.

The Samsung Galaxy Pocket has the Android version 2.3 ‘Gingerbread’ mobile OS, which provides users access to over half a million applications – whether for entertainment, information, or productivity, among others -- in the Google Play app store. It is also sleekly designed, and has a 2.8-inch touchscreen display and a 2-megapixel camera, WiFi and 3G connectivity.

Available exclusively from Smart, the Netphone 501 smartphone, on the other hand, has as much computing power as the Samsung Galaxy Pocket, and runs on the Android version 2.2 ‘FroYo’ mobile OS.

Thanks to SmartNet, users of these smartphones do not need to worry about incurring unexpected data charges. SmartNet has the “Safe Browse” feature which, when activated, prevents other apps outside SmartNet from accessing the Internet. With no apps unnecessarily accessing the Web in the background, there’s no risk of data bill shock – creating the always-connected but always-free social experience for Unli Social Plan 349 subscribers.

To apply for the Smart Unli Social Plan 349, interested individuals may proceed to the nearest Smart Store. They may also contact landline 8488877, or *887 from a Smart cellphone. For more information about Smart’s postpaid offerings, go to www.smart.com.ph/postpaid.
