Smart’s selection of Android devices in the country remains unmatched

Filipinos looking for the right smartphone need not look further than the nearest Smart Store as wireless leader Smart Communications, Inc. (Smart) continues to offer the best selection of Android devices in the country. With choices ranging from entry-level phones to high-end tablets, Smart makes available the latest gadget offerings at prices that fit any budget.

Topping the list of amazing devices are the Samsung Galaxy S3, the HTC One X, and the Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus, which are all available for free on Smart Unli Data Plan 2000.

The Samsung Galaxy S3, has been recognized by technology critics worldwide as the “best Android phone ever made”. With its beefy quad-core processor and stunning AMOLED screen, users will have a hard time putting this gorgeous gizmo down whether they’re at work or at play.

The equally impressive HTC One X, meanwhile, draws attention to its tough polycarbonate shell and high resolution camera which, easily rivals the speed and picture quality of larger, more advanced digital SLRs.

Lastly, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus a 7-inch table which features a 1.2GHz processor and High Speed Packet Access Plus (HSPA+) connectivity allows for unparalleled on-the-go productivity.

HSPA+ allows for speeds of up to 21Mbps making it the ideal connection technology for multimedia-capable mobile devices. With such bandwidth, mobile users can surf the web, upload photos, and download their favorite mobile apps and movies seamlessly and hassle-free.

“With such an impressive selection, there has never been a better time to switch to Smart,” said Carag. “After all, what good is a great phone if it's not on the best network?” she added.

For those on a budget, Smart also offers the QWERTY-equipped LG Optimus Pro for free with a Data Lite Plan 800 and the handy Netphone 501 powered by the SmartNet suite of applications with a Netphone Plan 349.

“Filipinos have spoken and they have chosen Android,” said Smart Chief Wireless Advisor Orlando Vea. “We have the widest selection of Android devices in the Philippines and we are proud to offer the best services alongside these best devices on the country’s best network,” he added.

Vea alludes to the fact that Smart has taken keen interest in an April 2012 study by research and analytics firm GfK, which states that the Google-owned mobile operating software (OS) now powers most smartphones in the country with a commanding 82.2% market share.

The critically-acclaimed OS enjoyed a near threefold rise from 2011, officially dethroning a long-time market leader and competitor for the first time in history.

GfK’s study further reveals that despite average smartphone prices being pegged below Php7,500, close to 95% of these are HSPA+-capable similar to more expensive handsets.

“Smartphones have come a long way, but for us to realize our vision of putting the power of the Internet into the hands of every Filipino, we will need to be more aggressive,” he said. “We believe that Android will help us lead the charge,” he ended.
