Canon releases three mid- to high-end PowerShot compact cameras for photographers who enjoy pushing the limits of creativity: the PowerShot G15, PowerShot S110, and PowerShot SX50 HS. More about the Canon PowerShot G15, PowerShot S110, and PowerShot SX50 HS after the jump.

Canon PowerShot G15 – The Power to Capture Life

To ensure that photographers never miss that perfect shot, Canon has endowed the PowerShot G15 with the fastest Auto-Focus (AF) performance in its class. Using Canon’s powerful DIGIC 5 imaging processor, the PowerShot G15 can focus on a subject in just 0.17 seconds, capturing the moment in stunning 12.1-megapixel clarity. Also allowing that ideal shot is its Dual Axis Electronic Levelling system, which brings up a graphical indicator that can help maintain the shot level and prevent skewed photos. Perfect for landscape photos, this feature can bring back the horizon if it is not visible due to low light or other circumstances.

The speed and agility of the PowerShot G15 is reflected in its design, with a slimmer and more compact body. A new two-level dial system uses larger and more visible icons to help photographers quickly select the required mode, with the main controls all concentrated on the right side of the camera to facilitate single-handed operation.

Canon PowerShot S110 – The Power to Turn Night into Light

Canon PowerShot S110 - P25,998

The successor to the PowerShot S100 is designed to be the perfect touch-screen camera for photographers who are fascinated by beautiful and mysterious night scenes. The PowerShot S110 uses the DIGIC 5 image processor, an enhanced HS SYSTEM, and a large f/2.0 aperture to conquer the most challenging lighting conditions at 12.1 megapixels, bringing out the best in night or low-light photography. Blurry images and excessive image noise are suppressed with the new Handheld Night Scene mode, and superior results can be achieved by taking two shots—one with flash and one without—and integrating the two shots automatically. The brighter details of the shot with flash properly expose the subject against the background landscape, while the one without flash maintains the ambience of the night.

The PowerShot S110 is given additional connectivity options with the inclusion of WiFi capabilities. Using this improved WiFi functionality and the Canon CameraWindow app, the PowerShot S110 is able to directly connect to iOS and Android devices, so images can be sent instantly to these devices. Users can make use of the add location function to tag GPS data on the images, and wireless printing is available with any compatible printer.

Canon PowerShot SX50 HS – The Power to Set Your Sights Further

Canon PowerShot SX50 HS - P25,998

Physical mobility is a frequent obstacle that hampers a high-quality shot: while a photographer can see and envision a shot of a subject, they cannot get close enough to capture it well. This problem is addressed by the 50x (24-1200mm) Optical Zoom lens of the 12.1-megapixel PowerShot SX50 HS. Despite its compact body, the powerful zoom can even extend until 24000mm with the 100x ZoomPlus telephoto feature. With zoom capability this intense, the slightest movement will cause blurry images, but the PowerShot SX50 HS is equipped with a Zoom Framing Assist Lock button, which will drastically reduce camera shake for sharper telephoto images. Its seek function, Zoom Framing Assist Seek, will help users find their subjects in a zoomed position quickly by zooming out first and letting the user locate the subject, keeping the previous zoomed-in frame within guiding borders. Upon releasing the seek button, the lens will revert to its previous zoom position.

According to Canon, these new PowerShot digital cameras empower photographers with the technology to help overcome any obstacle for superb-quality photos.

The PowerShot G15 retails for Php28,998 while the PowerShot S110 and SX50 HS both retail for Php25,998. All come with 3-year warranty.

These new models will be available in the Philippines come November 2012.
