HP, Miss Earth Beauties Join Forces To Promote Eco-Friendly Practices

Miss Earth, the prestigious international beauty pageant has partnered with Hewlett-Packard (HP), one of the leading green IT companies worldwide to further its eco-friendly initiatives. As Miss Earth’s official computer and network provider, HP has put their innovations to the forefront of the annual competition.

HP also granted the first Miss HP Philippines award in an off-stage event held in Bonifacio Global City. The award honors those contestants who understand the pivotal role of technology in protecting the environment.

To clinch the award, the conscientious beauties were asked a qualifying question concerning technology and the environment. Miss South Africa TamerinJardine was judged to have the best response: “I believe technology plays an integral part in keeping society conscious of the environment. I’m grateful that we have eco-friendly technology, like those on HP devices that can generate a positive impact on our planet. If we keep pushing that frontier, technology will help save our world,” she says.

The 25-year-old double-law degree holder and passionate environmentalist was all smiles upon receiving the award. “It’s an incredible accomplishment. I think that being able to share your opinions on how to take care of the environment and have those ideas shared by others is a big thing. I thank HP for making a difference in the lives of many, for people and other living things,” she adds.

Green giants unite
The participation of HP in this year’s Miss Earth hopes to highlight technology’s role in creating a positive impact on environmental issues. It also serves as a vehicle for contestants to educate the public on reducing their IT footprint.

Sponsoring products and services for this year’s Miss Earth reflects HP’s long-standing commitment to promote environmental awareness and responsibility. “This is an ideal partnership for HP because the brand’s ideologies fit the objectives of Miss Earth,” says Ryan Guadalquiver, HP Philippines Managing Director.

Guadalquiver believes that HP’s partnership with Miss Earth will help bring the brand closer to more Filipinos in the hopes that they will be compelled to choose products operating on green technology.
