Canon PIXMA is the top inkjet printer brand in the Philippines!

The IDC (International Data Corporation) recently announced that Canon PIXMA is the country’s No. 1 inkjet printer brand from January to September of 2012 based on unit sales. Commanding a market share of 45%, Canon dominated the whole industry composed of SFP (single-function printers) & MFP (multi-function printers). Canon PIXMA topped the SFP category with a 51% share and the MFP category with a 40% share.

It also grew significantly from last year, with total sales 8% more than the first three quarters of 2011.  Conversely, other major printer brands regressed from last year’s sales; in fact, the general sales of the entire printer industry declined by -17%.

“The growth of PIXMA in 2012 can be attributed to the synergy of our efforts in all aspects of business—sales, marketing, service support—which revolve around Canon’s Customer Delight philosophy,” shares Bong Serevo, Consumer Systems Products (CSP) division head and vice president of Canon Marketing Philippines. “Contributing to Canon’s success are our ink-efficient MFP/fax models, designed for the cost- and quality-conscious consumer. Helping us communicate these messages are our PIXMA brand ambassadors—Jo Avila, Per-André Hoffmann, and Jun Miranda—award-winning professional photographers who have greatly helped educate our pro market.”  The three PIXMA ambassadors have been touring the country with the Canon team to conduct free printing seminars entitled “Imprint” which teach photographers the proper methods of printing their photos with PIXMA Pro Printers.

Simultaneously, Canon PIXMA launched the marketing campaign “More, More Ways to Stand Out” which highlighted the PIXMA E500 and PIXMA E510, Canon’s student-friendly all-in-one printer. They also conducted a nationwide search for Canon PIXMA Stand Out Students, in which ten outstanding students were honored for representing PIXMA’s excellence and versatility through academics, extra-curricular activities, sports, and social activities.

“Every PIXMA printer purchase comes with our patented XPro After-Sales Service, which includes a technical helpdesk, motorized service in NCR, and nationwide service through our numerous accredited service centers.  We make sure we are available to the consumer throughout his entire printing experience with our Facebook page which addresses feedback and comments.”  Canon PIXMA will also be giving away special prizes on Facebook as a means of thanking loyal consumers.
