Smart bags 14 awards at 48th Anvil Awards!



Smart Communications (Smart) recently dominated the 48th Anvil Awards, receiving a total of 14 awards for initiatives in the areas of brand communication, customer care, disaster preparedness and response, education, employee engagement, environment, health, livelihood, social media and technopreneurship. This is the second time Smart topped the prestigious awards program. In 2012, Smart bagged 31 Anvil awards--making it the first company to achieve such a feat in Anvil history.

At the awarding ceremony held at the Makati Shangri-La Hotel, the mobile leader garnered seven Anvil Awards of Excellence. These include the Live More television commercial; Live Well, Live More, its holistic employee wellness program; Project NOAH or Nationwide Operational Assessment of Hazards mobile, an android app of DOST’s website for disaster prevention and mitigation; Project SHINE or Secured Health Information Network and Exchange, Smart’s flagship mHealth project that aims to raise the efficiency of healthcare facilities through mobile and ICT technologies; Project Zero, an upcycling and livelihood collaboration with lifestyle designer PJ Arañador which promotes the use of zero electricity, zero carbon-emissions and results in zero unemployment; and S@FE.ph, a campaign that taps the power of the internet and social media to help people prepare for, respond to, and recover from disasters.

Smart also received seven Merit Awards for: the Dynamic Learning Program (DLP) and the DLP audio-visual presentation (AVP), the IdeaSpace Technopreneurship Program launched in collaboration with IdeaSpace Foundation,Inc.; the iPhone 4S launch; SmartCares Social Media Specialists Program, the country’s first social media-based customer care initiative; the SmartSpeak digital employee news site; and the SWEEP or Smart Wireless Engineering Education Program Technology Scholarship initiative.

Dubbed as the Oscars of Public Relations in the Philippines, the Anvil is given annually by the Public Relations Society of the Philippines (PRSP) to outstanding public relations programs and tools that reflect and promote public interest, good values, and genuine service to the community and society.  The 48th Anvil awards received a record-breaking 400 entries. The distinguished board of jurors was chaired by regional media executive, Vishnu Mohan, CEO of Havas Media Asia Pacific.
