D-Link has introduced the newest member to its family of award-winning cloud cameras. The Wireless N H.264 Day/Night Network Camera (DCS-933L) features audio detection and Wi-Fi extender mode, allowing customers to receive image alerts triggered by sound and helps extend a home wireless network to eliminate dead spots and add other wireless devices easily. More about the D-Link DCS-933L after the jump.

The DCS-933L also has IR LEDs for night time viewing. Enhanced with mydlink support and D-Link’s exclusive Zero Configuration capability, these Cloud Cameras make it easier and more convenient for customers to look after family and home.

“People are working longer hours or traveling more than ever before. Naturally, they’d like to connect with their children or elderly family members, or keep an eye on their house when nobody’s around. The DCS-933L help them do just that,” said Mr Jonathan Quek, Product Marketing Director, D-Link International Pte Ltd. “All cloud cameras support D-Link’s Zero Configuration technology, so setup is as simple as pushing a button. The DCS-933L can be connected to the home network wirelessly, and even help extend the wireless signal to the farthest corner of the house so other devices always enjoy a strong connection. Once up and running, the DCS-933L can send an email alert with a snapshot when it pick up a sound and live video can be checked from a smartphone any time, so our customers enjoy total peace of mind.”

The DCS-933L has built-in CPUs to stream high-quality live video directly to the network, connecting by either 10/100 Ethernet or 802.11n Wi-Fi with Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS) for simple three-step installation. As mentioned, the camera can also serve as wireless network extenders. The Zero Configuration capability means that when paired with a D-Link Cloud Router, the camera connects to the network and configures itself automatically to deliver a live video stream. Footage is VGA (640x480) resolution, compressed with H.264 video compression technology to use less bandwidth and store up to five times more data in the same amount of space. In addition, the DCS-933L is equipped with infrared illumination technology for night viewing at distances to five meters, enabling round-the-clock monitoring of a home or small office.

Live video streams can be viewed and snapshots can be taken or sent via email on an iPhone, iPad or Android device with the free mydlink Lite app, available on the App Store and Google Play. Video footage can also be recorded to a PC on the local network using the free D-ViewCam camera management software for Windows PCs.
