Epson holds Color Brightness Projector Expo to educate the public about CLO of a projector

Epson, the no. 1 projector maker in the world, recently held a 3-day Color Brightness Projector Expo and Launch at the SM North EDSA (Cyberzone) to educate the public about the importance of knowing the Color Light Output (CLO) of a projector. More details after the jump.

CLO is a measurement of Color Brightness in projectors. It is a scientific global standard that measures the luminance of the colors Red, Green, and Blue. The metric was developed to provide customers with fair and accurate information in choosing the right projector.

“About 70% of projector buyers aren’t aware that the ‘lumens’ advertised in projector specifications only refers to white brightness. For most projectors using 1-chip technology, their color brightness is only 1/3 of their advertised lumens – as such, their 2100-lumens projector typically can only display 700 lumens of color,” said Lyn Lizarondo, Epson Philippines’ Product Manager for Visual Instruments.

To demonstrate how critical Color Brightness is for projector display, Epson provided a ‘shootout’ booth where Epson’s entry-level projector was pitted against a competitor’s. Projecting the same image from the same source and both projectors at their brightest settings, Epson’s projector visibly demonstrated its superiority in displaying color.

Aside from the ‘shootout’ booth, the Color Brightness Expo also featured Epson’s latest projector models. The EB-S18/X18/W18/ and X24 is Epson’s multimedia projector series engineered to make mobile presentations easy. Versatile, user-friendly, and equipped with advanced features including HDMI connection and automatic keystone adjustment, these projectors will enable users to deliver smooth and high contrast presentations every time.

Another projector that Epson launched in the Expo is the EH-TW550. The Epson EH-TW550 projector is a highly affordable 3D home theatre projector that delivers quality entertainment and immersive gaming experience right in the living room. It features 720P HD resolution, unrestricted viewing angles with RF 3D glasses and easy screen correction for convenience and enhanced viewing experience.

“Epson has the widest selection of projector models to satisfy the projector needs of our customers. With these new models, we are expanding our selection to help our customers find the perfect projector for them,” added Lizarondo.

Hosted by Wave 89.1’s DJ Anne Asis-Carilo, Epson’s Color Brightness Projector Expo also highlighted Epson’s latest 3D and interactive projectors that break barriers in performance, innovation, and functionality. The UP Pep Squad, the country’s representative to the World Cheerleading Championships in Thailand in November, electrified the crowd with their high-energy opening performance.
