Salarium voted best Startup of the Philippines
Optimized-Seedstars Manila Winner Salarium with the Seedstars Jury and runners up

Seedstars World has successfully concluded its regional event in Manila, which was hosted at Microsoft Philippines. The top 3 winning startups comprised of 1st place winner Salarium, an innovative enterprise SaaS, 2nd place winner Senti, a social media analyzer for Southeast Asia, and Eqela, a cross platform coding tool.

As a regional winner, Salarium will be invited to Geneva in February to compete with all the other regional winners globally as part of Seedstars World Final Event. Judah Z Hirsch, Salarium’s CEO stated: “I cannot wait to showcase Salarium and the Filipino startup scene in Geneva. Seedstars World is the ideal platform to show the world what the Filipino and the Salarium team are made of!”

Based in Geneva, Switzerland and founded by Alisee de Tonnac and Pierre-Alain Masson, the competition is supported by the venture builder Seedstars SA. Afterits first successful edition in 2013 across 20 cities, SSW expanded its competition massively to more than 30 countries. Regional winners are invited back to Geneva to pitch for an equity investment of up to USD 500’000. The regional events feature up to 20 startups, which must prove their worth in six minutes of pitching time and withstand the questions from a local jury of experts and a Seedstars World representative.

Alisee de Tonnac, SSW CEO, stated that “Seedstars World will hold its worldwide competition every year and we are expecting to grow exponentially to all the corners of the world and put all the fast growing startup scenes on the map! Indeed, our goal is to create THE network for quality entrepreneurs around the world and help entrepreneurs, accelerators/incubators, co-working spaces and investors to interact with one another.”

Seedstars Manila partner Ideaspace’s President and Co-founder & Earl Valencia stated: "We are very thankful that Seedstars decided to come to Manila to inject excitement in our start-up ecosystem. The connection to Switzerland and Europe is important for us, as we would like to attract more partners and increase investor interest from Europe. IdeaSpace is looking forward to see SeedStars Manila in 2015 and congratulations for Salarium as they represent the Philippines in the global competition in Switzerland.

The Embassy of Switzerland in Manila partnered with Seedstars World, with the Swiss Ambassador Ivo Sieber joining the event and opening an exclusive cocktail sponsored by the Embassy. In his opening remarks, H.E. Ivo Sieber remarked on the innovative Swiss spirit, as well as the strong Filipino startup scene.

Other partners included Demo Asean and Microsoft, the latter of which hosted the event. Further jury members included Jay Fajardo, Program Director of LaunchGarage, TechJobsAsia’s Diego Jose Ramos, Purple Cow Employee Benefits’ Founder Tom Gotuaco, with Seedstars World’s Nellie Horn rounding out the jury. For its return to The Philippines, SSW teamed up with Seedstars Asia partner Galixo, a boutique consultancy based in Singapore working with startups in developing their business strategy and entering new markets at global level. CEO and jury member Raphael Dana stated, "The Seedstars Manila event was a great debut in the Philippines for Seedstars World. Galixo is proud to support these events and we are excited to see Salarium represent their country in Geneva!"

The next stop of the tour is Seedstars Kuala Lumpur on the 9th of September. It continues on to Singapore, Jakarta, Shanghai, Sydney, Mexico City, Bogot , Lima, Santiago, Buenos Aires and Sao Paulo.
