realme Buds T100 Unboxing and Hands-on

realme continues to expand its AIoT portfolio within the TechLife ecosystem by launching its latest TWS (True Wireless Stereo) device - the realme Buds T100.

realme Buds T100 Unboxing and Hands-on

Launched last October, realme’s new budget TWS boasts a 10mm driver, 88ms latency, and a 480mAh battery capacity with a total playback time of up to 28 hours. It also features a two-tone hit color design, an AI ENC Noise Cancellation for calls, and IPX5 water resistance.

I borrowed one from my co-worker and I’d like to share my unboxing as well as my hands-on experience with the device. So, let's deal first with the unboxing.

Unboxing the realme Buds T100

The packaging of the realme Buds T100 comes in a white-colored box. The front portion indicates the Buds T100; while the model number, color, customer care details, and other details are imprinted on the backside of the box.

Inside the Box and Accessories

After opening the box and sliding its contents, you will see the realme Buds T100 charging case protected by a matte plastic lining.

Design and Walk Around

For the design, the realme Buds T100 comes in the usual pebble-like casing with a glossy finish. The Buds T100 are available in two colors - Punk Black (features a two-tone hit color design) and Pop White. Mine comes in the latter color.

Now, let's take a closer look at the earbuds themselves. The earbuds come in a glossy finish having curve (inner) and flat (exterior). At the top is where the earbud touch control area and tuning hole are located. Meanwhile, the charging contact pins, L/R indicator, and microphone can be seen at the bottom.

Pairing and realme Link app

For pairing, the realme Buds T100 is compatible with the latest Bluetooth 5.3 connection and can be paired using the usual Bluetooth pairing or by downloading the realme Link app. With a distance of up to 10 meters away from its paired device, it can instantly connect to your device once the case is opened and each of the earbuds are pulled out.

realme Buds T100 Pairing

When you take the earbuds out from the charging case for the first time, the earbuds will turn on and automatically enters the pairing mode. The earphone can also enter the pairing mode manually, just by taking the two earbuds out of the charging case and pressing the touch area with both fingers for 5 seconds at the same time.

To reset the earbuds in case of faulty pairing or when one of the earbuds is not working, just take the two earbuds out of the charging case and press the touch area with both fingers (at the same time) for 10 seconds.

The realme Link app will allow you to see if the device is connected, the battery levels of each earbud, change the sound effects (Bass Boost+, Balanced and Bright), Volume Enhancer to increase the volume, Game Mode for 88ms low latency when gaming, and customize the touch controls on the left and right earbuds.

The touch control area of the earbuds supports several controls: A double-tap answers or hangs up a call, and pauses or plays music; a triple-tap skips to the next track. A long press on one earbud, however, rejects incoming calls (2 seconds) or adjusts the volume (3 seconds).

Audio Quality, Comfort, and Other Features

As to the audio quality, it’s on the decent side for its price. You can feel the bass, vocals are present and still clear, moreover, it can also get very loud.

realme Buds T100 Comfort

The earbuds are lightweight, weighing only 4 grams, and feel comfortable to wear. It securely fits on my ear and does not fall off even if I tried shaking my head.

Additionally, the earbuds come with a 10mm driver and support IPX5 water resistance. On top of this, the realme Buds T100 comes with an Environmental Noise Cancellation that cancels out unwanted noise by separating background voices and noises in real time via AI algorithms.

Battery Life and Charging

According to realme, the Buds T100's music playtime is up to 6 hours on one charge. Charging the earbuds in the case makes the total playtime up to 28 hours.

The realme Buds T100 has a total of 480mAh battery capacity - 40mAh for each earbud, and 400mAh for the case. The Buds T100 also supports fast charging. With just 10 minutes of charging time, you’ll get 2 hours of playback. Charging the charging case from 0% to 100% capacity takes around 2 hours.
