The V30 Series sets a new standard in the midrange category with the combination of unique design, capable hardware, powerful camera setup, and long-lasting battery life.

I was fortunate to get a hold of one of the V30 Series smartphones, and I'm excited to share my unboxing experience and initial impressions of vivo V30 with you. So, without further ado, let's start with the unboxing.

Unboxing the vivo V30

vivo V30 Retail Box

The vivo V30 is packaged in a high-end box that prominently displays the V30 logo on the front. The back of the box features various details about the device, including its model number, IMEI number, serial number, color, and more.

Inside the Box and Accessories

Upon opening the box, you will find the following items inside: the vivo V30 smartphone, a SIM card ejector tool, a quick start guide, important information (including the warranty card), an 80W FlashCharge power adapter, a USB type-C to USB-A charging cable, and a silicone case. Please note that the vivo V30 does not come with headphones, so you will need to provide your own.

Let's now take a closer look at the device's physical appearance and my initial impression of it.

Design and Walk Around

Many fans have long regarded vivo as a brand that offers both top-notch innovations and visually pleasing designs. The brand's latest release, the vivo V30, showcases a new View Catcher Design that seamlessly integrates the camera and back panel. It's available in two color options inspired by Southeast Asia - Petals White and Green Sea. My unit comes in a Petals White color variant that features a "3D Petal Pattern" resembling blooming flowers and unfurling petals. This design is also less prone to fingerprint smudges and scratches.

vivo V30 Design

The vivo V30 is a dual-glass curved phone with a plastic frame, weighing only 185g and measuring 7.45 mm in thickness, making it the thinnest 5,000mAh phone in its price bracket.

The phone's front side boasts a large 6.78-inch 1.5K (1260 x 2800) AMOLED display that is safeguarded by a curved "Schott α" glass along with a pre-installed screen protector. The screen's top portion has a centered hole-punch camera, while the earpiece is subtly etched above the display. Additionally, the fingerprint reader is positioned below the screen.

At the back of the phone, there is a rectangular-shaped camera module which includes a dual-camera set-up and an LED flash with the square-shaped Aura Light surrounding it. The Aura Light glows and it can change colors from white, and yellow, to orange or red.

The phone's volume rocker button and power button are located on the right side, while the top of the phone is clean with only the secondary noise-canceling microphone present.

vivo V30 Top

At the bottom of vivo V30, you'll find a USB Type-C charging port, downward-firing speaker, microphone, and dual SIM card tray. Sadly, the phone does not come with a 3.5mm audio jack and only has one speaker.

The vivo V30 boasts a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 mobile platform, Adreno 720 graphics, 12GB of RAM, and 256GB of internal storage. The phone is powered by a 5,000mAh battery, which is the largest battery capacity in V Series so far and supports 80W fast charging. Additionally, it comes with up to 12GB of extended RAM.

vivo V30 Internals

The phone runs on Funtouch OS 14 based on Android 14. It also features Game Boost mode and a Liquid Cooling System that helps prevent overheating and provides users with a smooth and lag-free gaming experience. The phone is IP54 water-resistant and dust-resistant, and it comes with a comprehensive cushioning structure that significantly enhances the safety of both external and internal components.

The vivo V30 has a dual-camera set-up, consisting of a 50MP F1.9 primary camera with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS), Phase Detection autofocus (PDAF), and vivo's exclusive Camera-Bionic Spectrum (VCS) technology.
