vivo X200 FE Unboxing and Review
In July 2025, vivo announced the launch of its latest compact flagship smartphone in the Philippines – the vivo X200 FE.

This device is designed for Filipino creators, professionals, and explorers. It features a 6.31-inch AMOLED display, a MediaTek Dimensity 9300+ processor, 12GB of RAM, and a substantial 512GB of storage. Additionally, it is equipped with a massive 6,500mAh battery that supports 90W FlashCharge, all within a slim 8.0mm body that weighs just 186g.
As part of the X series, the X200 FE inherits notable photography capabilities. It includes a ZEISS-enhanced 50MP primary camera and 50MP telephoto lens with 3x zoom. Additionally, there is an 8MP ultrawide camera and a 50MP selfie camera.
I had the opportunity to get my hands on this device, and I’m excited to share my unboxing experience with you. We’ll also take a closer look at the smartphone’s features to help you decide if it meets your needs. So, without further ado, let’s start the unboxing!
Unboxing the vivo X200 FE
The vivo X200 FE comes in a large and high-quality box that, in my opinion, represents the most premium packaging I have reviewed from vivo. The front of the box prominently displays the X200 FE logo and emphasizes its partnership with ZEISS. On the back, you'll find important information about the device, including the model number, IMEI number, serial number, color, and more.

Upon opening the box, you'll find the following items included: the vivo X200 FE smartphone, a SIM card ejector tool, a quick start guide, essential information (including the warranty card), a 90W FlashCharge power adapter, a USB Type-C to USB-A charging cable, and a silicone case. However, it’s worth noting that the X200 FE does not come with headphones, so you'll need to provide your own.

Now, let’s take a closer look at the device's physical appearance.
Design and Walk Around
The vivo X200 FE features a bold design and a premium feel that resembles an existing phone from its competitor. The device has a dual-glass body with an aluminum frame, weighing just 186 grams and measuring 8 mm in thickness. Despite its slim profile, the X200 FE is equipped with a powerful 6,500mAh battery, making it one of the slimmest phones in vivo's lineup with such a large capacity.

Additionally, the vivo X200 FE boasts IP68 and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance. The IP68 rating means the device is completely dust-tight and can be submerged in water up to 1.5 meters deep for 30 minutes. The IP69 rating provides enhanced protection against high-pressure water jets, contributing to the phone's durability. Furthermore, it is military-grade drop-resistant (MIL-STD-810G) and SGS certified.
In the Philippines, the vivo X200 FE is available in two colors: Black Luxe and Blue Breeze. The Black Luxe variant in which I have features a frosted matte finish on both the glass back and the frame, making it smudge-resistant and adding extra grip.

On the front, the phone boasts a large 6.31-inch AMOLED display, protected by Schott Xensation Core, which vivo refers to as Shield Glass, developed in collaboration with Schott. The display is also covered by a pre-applied plastic film for additional protection. At the top of the screen, there is a centered hole-punch camera, while the earpiece—functioning also as a speaker—is discreetly positioned above the display along with two LED flashes for selfies. Additionally, the fingerprint reader is located beneath the screen.
The back of the device is clean, featuring only the camera housing, which is an oval island that houses a 50MP main camera and a 50MP telephoto camera. Inside this housing, two black dots serve as a laser emitter and receiver for focusing assistance, alongside the ZEISS logo. Outside the camera housing is an 8MP ultrawide camera and a ring-like LED flash known as Aura Flash.

The volume rocker and power button are located on the right side, while the top of the phone remains clean, featuring only two openings for the secondary microphone.
At the bottom of the vivo X200 FE, you will find a USB Type-C charging port, a downward-firing speaker, two additional microphones, and a dual SIM card tray. Unfortunately, the phone does not include a 3.5mm audio jack.

Display and Multimedia
The vivo X200 FE is a smartphone featuring a 6.31-inch LTPO AMOLED display with a resolution of 1216 x 2640 pixels and a 120Hz refresh rate. It offers three refresh rate modes: Auto Switch, High (up to 120Hz), and Standard (up to 60Hz). The AMOLED panel delivers vivid colors and excellent viewing angles, with a maximum brightness of up to 1,800 nits and a peak brightness of 5,000 nits, which automatically adjusts to ensure optimal visibility in outdoor conditions.

Similar to the vivo V50, the vivo X200 FE is equipped with dual stereo speakers. The audio quality is impressive, and the volume can reach quite high levels. However, for an even better audio experience, it is still recommended to use headphones or an external speaker.

Camera
Rear Cameras
The vivo X200 FE carries the telephoto DNA of the X Series, making professional imaging truly portable. While compact phones often have notable compromises in camera quality, the X200 FE maintains exceptional camera performance.

This device features a triple-camera system, which includes a 50MP F1.88 primary camera equipped with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) and Phase Detection Autofocus (PDAF). It utilizes the Sony IMX 921 sensor. Additionally, there is a 50MP F2.65 telephoto camera with OIS and PDAF, which employs the Sony IMX 882 sensor. Lastly, an 8MP F2.0 ultrawide camera, which is fixed focus and uses the OmniVision OV08D10 sensor, rounds out the setup.

The new trapezoidal prism periscope lens keeps the camera module slim while enabling up to 100x zoom and Stage Mode. In collaboration with ZEISS, the vivo X200 FE features the ZEISS Multifocal Portrait mode, offering professional portrait focal lengths: 23mm for epic landscapes, 35mm for storytelling moments, 50mm for everyday portraits, 85mm for emotional close-ups, and 100mm for intricate details. The device also supports Live Photo functionality, compatible with iPhone's Live Photos for smoother sharing. With seven classic ZEISS bokeh effects and cinematic flare rendering, photography becomes even more creative.
There is also a Street Photography Mode, which captures candid life moments with authentic emotions. This mode can be activated instantly by double-clicking the volume down button, even when the screen is off.
Further enhancing creativity, AI Image Studio offers features like Magic Move, Image Expander, and Reflection Erase, allowing users to transform their mobile photography into gallery-worthy storytelling without the need for heavy gear.
In bright lighting conditions, the rear cameras produce impressive results, showcasing vibrant colors, sharp details, and excellent dynamic range.
The vivo X200 FE also excels in low-light and nighttime photography, capturing images with great exposure, color accuracy, and considerable detail.
Front Selfie Camera
The front-facing camera features a 50MP F2.0 aperture and autofocus, using the Samsung ISOCELL JN1 sensor. It takes detailed and sharp photos that accurately reflect real-life colors and natural skin tones. While the background blurring for portrait selfies is not perfect, it remains quite effective.
Videos
Regarding video capabilities, the vivo X200 FE supports up to 4K resolution at 60fps for both the rear (primary and telephoto) and front cameras. The device includes Aura Light Portrait Video, which enhances clarity in low-light scenarios. Additionally, Hybrid Image Stabilization (OIS + EIS) ensures smooth footage. Videos captured using the main camera are of notably high quality, featuring low noise and abundant detail.
Funtouch OS, Apps, and Security
The vivo X200 FE features a customized user interface known as Funtouch OS 15 (FOS15), which is based on the Android 15 operating system. The design of FOS15 has undergone significant enhancements, introducing new materials and resources across various modules, including Wallpapers (static, immersive, and video), Themes, Icons, Clock Widgets, Fingerprint Recognition Animation, Call Backgrounds, and Always-On Display.

The X200 FE incorporates Google's integrated search tool and the Gemini AI assistant, along with a Google Lens-powered screen translation feature. Users can also take advantage of live translation during phone calls and an AI Transcript Assist utility for summarizing spoken conversations. The gallery editor includes AI-driven functionalities that allow users to delete objects, remove people, and eliminate reflections from images.
In contrast to the vivo V50, which is eligible for three major operating system updates, the vivo X200 FE will receive four major OS release updates, plus an additional year of security updates. vivo assures that intelligent management of background tasks will ensure smooth, lag-free performance for up to five years (60 months) without significant slowdowns. Additionally, the phone comes pre-installed with a standard suite of vivo and Google apps, along with some extra bloatware.

For security, the vivo X200 FE is equipped with an in-display fingerprint scanner and facial recognition technology for unlocking the device. Both methods are effective, with the fingerprint scanner being particularly fast and accurate. However, the face unlock feature may be slower in low-light conditions.
Hardware and Performance
The vivo X200 FE positions itself in the flagship category with its Mediatek Dimensity 9300+ chipset, which is manufactured using a 4nm process. This chipset includes one Cortex-X4 prime core clocked at 3.4GHz, three Cortex-X4 cores operating at 2.85GHz, and four Cortex-A720 cores capable of reaching speeds up to 2.0GHz. Additionally, it features an Immortalis-G720 MC12 GPU.

The performance of the vivo X200 FE is impressively smooth, allowing it to handle resource-intensive applications with ease. However, its sustained performance is average, as the device tends to get quite hot after just a few minutes of use, even during light to moderate tasks. For gaming, it provides a seamless experience and supports a wide variety of games. The phone also includes features such as Game Boost mode, 4D Game Vibration, and a Vapor Chamber cooling system to enhance overall performance.
The vivo X200 FE supports Extended RAM 4.0 technology, which allows the RAM to be virtually expanded by utilizing internal storage. This means the device can use up to 12GB of its internal storage, resulting in a total of up to 24GB of RAM.

In the Philippines, the vivo X200 FE is available in a single storage variant of 512GB. My unit has used 29.92GB of storage right out of the box. Unfortunately, the device does not support microSD card expansion.
Below are the benchmark scores for this device:

Battery Life, Charging, and Connectivity
The vivo X200 FE features an impressive 6,500mAh battery packed into a compact body. According to vivo, the X200 FE can last up to 9.5 hours of gaming, 25.4 hours of video playback, and 44.9 hours of talk time. Based on my usage, which primarily consists of browsing social media, watching YouTube, and taking photos, this battery easily lasts an entire day without needing a recharge. In the PCMark Work 3.0 Battery Life Test, the device achieved a remarkably high score of approximately 21 hours and 16 minutes.

Additionally, the vivo X200 FE is equipped with 90W FlashCharge technology, allowing the 6,500mAh battery to charge from 0 to 100 percent in under an hour, specifically around 58 minutes. The device also includes energy-saving software like the BlueVolt Battery System and AI Sleep Mode. These features help minimize background power usage and idle consumption, ensuring that a full charge lasts from morning until night.

In terms of connectivity, the vivo X200 FE offers standard features such as dual SIM (nano-SIM) support, 5G connectivity, WiFi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, GPS, and a USB Type-C port.
