ASUS took home 23 awards for design and engineering excellence at the Good Design Awards 2012 held recently in Tokyo. The award wins reflect the ASUS In Search of the Incredible spirit, with winners across multiple product lines, including two making the Best 100 list. The jury was particularly impressed with the ASUSPRO BU400 business ultrabook’s lightweight, slim design and business-centric features. Also making the Best 100 list is the ROG Maximus V Formula motherboard which features the world’s first hybrid air and liquid cooling design. More details after the jump.

The internationally acclaimed awards, organized by the Japan Institute of Design Promotion (JDP), is now in its 55th year and this year it received 3,132 entries from around the world.

The Good Design Awards program, first initiated in 1957, is recognized as one of the world’s top design awards by the International Council of Societies of Industrial Design. Entries are subjected to two stringent screenings before the wnners are selected. These evaluations are not just based on aesthetic form, but on how these products identify economic, industrial, and social trends to deliver a design that combines beauty and usability.  Honorees are entitled to use the G-Mark logo, recognized around the world for design excellence.

Creative design is one of the hallmarks of ASUS Design’s Start with People philosophy. The design team focuses on understanding people’s needs and work on delivering inspiring product experiences.

These wins acknowledge the efforts put in by ASUS designers and are testament to the spirit of In Search of Incredible.
