How to time synchronize your computer from PAGASA NTP SERVER using Windows XP/7/8


Are you on Philippine Standard Time? Did you know that President Aquino recently signed a law called Republic Act 10535 or The Philippine Standard Time Act of 2013 and requires all national and local government offices to display the Philippine Standard Time on their official time devices. Luckily, you can now synchronize your time right now with the official Philippine Standard Time set by PAGASA using their Network Time Protocol (NTP) server. To synchronize, just follow these steps after the jump.

STEPS IN TIME SYNCHRONIZATION USING PAGASA NTP SERVER FOR WINDOWS 7/8

Step 1: Click or select "Date and Time" in system icon tray located in the lower right corner of the taskbar.

Step 2: "Date and Time" window will pop up. Then Click or select "change date and time settings..."

Step 3: "Date and Time Setting" window will show. Then select the tab "Internet Time".

Step 4: After selecting the "Internet Time" tab, click or select "Change settings..." button. and "Internet Time Settings" window will pop up.

Step 5: In "Internet Time Settings", type "ntp.pagasa.dost.gov.ph" in server textbox highlighted in red, then press "Update now".

Step 6: For the last part, wait for your computer to sync to the server. A message will inform you if update is successful.

STEPS IN TIME SYNCHRONIZATION USING PAGASA NTP SERVER FOR WINDOWS XP

Step 1: Left double-click on the time (bottom-right of your desktop)

Step 2: From the Menu that opens choose Adjust Date/Time. The Date/Time Properties Dialog Box is displayed

Step 3: Left click the "Internet Time" tab

Step 4: Type "ntp.pagasa.dost.gov.ph" in the server textbox. Left click the "Update Now" button

Step 5: Wait for a few seconds

Step 6: Left click the "OK" button

Disclaimer: Internet is one of the main modes by which PAGASA disseminates the Philippine Standard Time (PST). Obviously, there may be discrepancies with the PST displayed (above) as compared to the PAGASA's clock. The major causes of the discrepancy are internet transmission delay and the computer workload of the computer you are using.
