Design coup: What Camille Co and Lenovo K900 have in common

Camille Co

Few individuals and products steal the spotlight when they first burst into the scene. Meet Camille Co and her Lenovo K900 smartphone, both prize winners, and a match made in style heaven.

Consummate Fashionista

The blog of Camille Co, the 24-year-old owner and designer of the fashion line Coexist, is simply called Camille Tries to Blog. It's an unassuming title for what she thought would just be a pastime and a way to promote Coexist.

In 2011, just a few months after going online, Camille was featured as TeenVogue.com's Blogger of the Moment; won the international “Mango's It Girl” title, making her the face of Mango's Summer 2012 online campaigns; and became a finalist at the Nuffnang Asia-Pacific Blog Awards. Recently, her blog has also been included in LuckyMag.com's 13 Favorite Fashion Blogs around the World.

Yet Camille said in the About section of her blog: she's a fashion designer first, then a blogger, and occasionally a stylist and a model. Preview Magazine named her as one of the “10 Designers to Watch For” in 2010 with her fashion brand Coexist.

The world can't help but to notice, too, her always put-together look. She was named as one of Preview Magazine's 10 Best Dressed Women (2011) and Mega Magazine's 20 Most Stylish (2011 and 2012). She also endorses several of the country’s top brands now, including Olay, Pantene, Closeup and more.

Stylista Meets Gadget of Grand Style
“In my line of work, I'd probably suffer withdrawal symptoms,” Camille says when asked if she can last a day without gadgets. “It will kill me inside!” she laughingly elaborates.

As a brand ambassador, Camille goes to photo shoots for many labels. As a blogger, she gets invited to cover plenty of fashion events here and abroad. And as a designer, Camille is always on the go and needs something that's convenient but can keep up with her lifestyle. “I've always wanted to try a smartphone that's Android-based but without all the complicated stuff,” she says.

Then she picked up the Lenovo K900. “It gave me such a pleasant surprise. It's Android-based, does all the things I want, and is user-friendly, too!” she gushes. “Now, I bring it with me everywhere and use it all the time.”

Game Changer
At the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2013, Lenovo K900 was named one of Gizmodo Readers' Choice Awards' Five Best Phones. The slimmest-in-class at just 6.99mm thin, the K900 is at the forefront of Lenovo's smartphone charge and boasts of many firsts.

The Lenovo K900 is the world's first smartphone based on Intel's new Atom Z2580 processor. It is one of the firsts in the world to combine a 5.5” IPS display with 1080p full HD resolution at 400+ pixels-per-inch.

According to Michael Ngan, Country General Manager, Lenovo Philippines, “Performance, design and features set the Lenovo smartphones apart from the rest. We are now number 2 in market share in China, the world's largest smartphone market. Globally, we are number three in the smart connected devices category and number four in the smartphone category. Our designers have focused on keeping the new smartphones thin and light without sacrificing performance. The K900, in particular, is intended for users who want the best of the best and want style and substance. It embodies the spirit of the ambassador Kobe Bryant—powerful yet refined.”

Image Conscious
Camille remarks that from the onset, the K900 “felt so natural. There was hardly any adjustment for me. I learned to use it very quickly.” One of the first things she noticed and loves until now is the handset's feel. “I love that it's made of steel and doesn't feel or look like plastic at all. It looks so expensive, classy and chic. I can't stop touching it! Plus points because it's so slim. The design is so modern and slick... it fits into my bag so well.”

Non-magnetic stainless steel and polycarbonate form the unibody case of Lenovo K900, which makes for an elegant and durable brushed metal casing. It weighs in at a mere 162g, and boasts of the latest touch-capacitive Gorilla Glass 2 that is nail-and pen-friendly.

Because Camille blogs about her love for fashion, her travels and other interesting exploits, she constantly posts lots and lots of photos. “I love taking photos, and Lenovo K900's camera is awesome!” This smartphone's camera ranks at the top of its class with a 13MP high-sensitivity, auto-focus rear snapper with dual-LED flash and F/1.8 lens for amazing images and 1080p videos. Plus, its 88° wide-angle, 2MP front camera makes video chatting easy and fun.

The full HD display on the 5.5-inch screen is a big selling point for Camille. She finds that viewing inspirational boards and keeping up-to-date with the latest shows and trends through the Lenovo K900’s display size is really an advantage because everything is so much clearer and crisp.

Substance Under the Flashy Exterior
The Intel Atom 2.0 GHz processor makes multitasking on the Lenovo K900 effortless. Running on Android Jelly Bean 4.2 operating system, it is very responsive for web-browsing, multi-tasking and application-switching.

“I always need to be connected. My e-mails never end. And I have tons of work to do online. Having a smartphone that's powerful and speedy greatly helps in my line of work. With the K900, I'm able to work on my Excel and Word files as well. The shortcuts are great for multitasking, too.”

Camille recently launched the Camille Co for Tomato collection, a complete wardrobe collection for modern career women. She was approached to do editorial work and even to write a book which she thinks might be possible in the far future.

Such burst of energy from this indefatigable achiever is matched by the Lenovo K900. It charges fast and runs lean, allowing up to 15 hours of talk time on 2G and 3G services, respectively.

Camille concludes, "Style and convenience are what I look for in most of the things I use, and the Lenovo K900 fits right in!"
