D-Link launches DCS-2136L: The World’s First 11AC IP Camera with Color Night Vision!

D-Link DCS-2136L IP Camera

D-Link has just announced the launch of the world’s first  IP camera with wireless 11AC support, the DCS-2136L mydlink Cloud Wireless AC IP Camera with Colour Night Vision. This mydlink-enabled IP camera offers consumers and small business owners advanced networking and viewing capabilities for round-the-clock monitoring even when one is away.

It is the first consumer IP camera to include ‘Color Night Vision’ viewing in complete darkness, 802.11ac Wi-Fi connectivity for longer range and greater bandwidth availability, and the D-ViewCam app for convenient viewing.

“With the demand for residential and SMB wireless surveillance steadily increasing, D-Link is moving the market forward with the first IP camera to support the newest wireless 11AC standard,” said Mr Jonathan Quek, Product Marketing Manager for D-Link International. “The new IP camera comes with white light LED for vibrant colour images, even in low light environments.”

Enhanced monitoring with Color Night Vision and infrared sensors
The DCS-2136L boasts Color Night Vision, a technology combined with an integrated white light LED, which allows the camera to display vivid color images even in complete darkness. This vibrant color display gives home owners and SMBs an added advantage for identification than the standard black-and-white night mode videos. Additionally, the visible white light LED also serves as an alert that the camera is switched on, and often results in intruders looking directly at the camera, allowing the device to capture crucial facial details for recognition purposes.

The camera is also equipped with a passive infrared (PIR) sensor that detects motion, triggering automatic records and sending users notifications of activity. The snapshots and videos are recorded to an attached microSD card, allowing the camera to work without a computer or network storage device.

On-the-go video management and flexible setup options
Enabled with mydlink, users can enjoy an extended range of functions with the mydlink lite app, a free app available on iOS and Android devices. It allows users to view up to 99 connected cameras, record or take snapshots remotely. For more sophisticated management, the camera comes with D-ViewCam software that allows users to manage up to 32 network cameras, create recording schedules, and set email notifications.

The in-built microphone and speaker allows for two-way communication, making it suitable for use in entryways or for caretaker applications. Equipped with 802.11ac support, the camera can be setup anywhere easily without requiring for additional cabling to be installed. For added convenience, the device is also backwards compatible with 802.11n/b/g standards, taking away the hassle of Wi-Fi upgrading.

Availability
The DCS-2136L mydlink Cloud Wireless AC IP Camera with Color Night Vision will be available at all authorized retailers and resellers in Q2 2014 with a local SRP of Php9,154.
