Lenovo amplifies 2GO Group’s service capabilities and productivity levels

Lenovo-2GO

Since 2010, Lenovo has been providing 2GO Group with reliable computing devices to handle an average of 9,000 and 25,000 transactions daily in its shipping and passage businesses respectively and bolster coordination within its vast network of warehouses and branches. Lenovo's personal computers (PCs) allow 2GO to serve the day-to-day information demands of its customers accurately and in a timely manner.

“Our commitment to innovation is the driving force behind our award-winning products. It is the root and also the core of our business as a PC Plus company. With our rich history of technological breakthroughs, we are setting the bar for highly-differentiated products that address 2GO’squality, reliability, style, and speed requirements,” said Michael Ngan, Country General Manager, Lenovo Philippines.

Investing on Durability
Before shifting to Lenovo, 2GO used hardware that suffered from performance issues and broke down within a span of six to seven months. Reformatting the PCs proved to be futile, as the company would experience the same problem eight to nine months later.

2GO uses desktops and laptops primarily for processing internal and customer requests, as well as allowing employees from the umbrella group’s 28 companies to collaborate more closely with each other by using several computing-intensive applications. Each department also runs a unique application specific to its needs. Given 2GO’s heavy reliance on PCs, any technological glitch is highly detrimental to its business and day-to-day operations.

Having encountered a series of system breakdowns, 2GO decided to invest on Lenovo hardware to address durability and power requirements. 2GO acquired the ThinkCentre M81 and M82 PCs, as well as ThinkPad Edge E Series, ThinkPad X Series, ThinkPad T400, ThinkPad Z Series, and Lenovo G Series laptops to be used by different business units.

Today, 2GO uses over 1,400 Lenovo desktops and 500 laptops for its front-end and back-end business needs.

Reliable and Cost-Efficient Solutions for the Long Haul
Lenovo has not only provided 2GO with robust hardware, but it has also been delivering good support services. 2GO can bank on receiving immediate attention and purchase the accessories and parts required to supplement its hardware. Additionally, Lenovo’s three-year warranty has allowed 2GO to save on costly hardware, unlike previous times when it had to incur costs whenever its PCs and laptops broke down when the machines’ warranty period had elapsed.

“Lenovo sends in technicians within the same day when we call for their assistance. They also provide replacement if there’s a need to pull out the unit. I consider this to be a very good service agreement,” said Kim David, Chief Information Officer, 2GO Group.

Using Lenovo computing devices has given 2GO savings in support cost. Lenovo’s fast machine deployment, efficient support service, and long user life span have helped to enhance 2GO’s service levels.

With 2GO’s IT team planning to leverage on workplace mobility, the company plans to continue its partnership with Lenovo and invest in its tablets.

“Our Lenovo desktop and laptop PCs are highly reliable, and they are able to cater to our organization’s multiple day-to-day demands. As we advance in this mobile-driven era, we are banking on Lenovo’s continued service support and innovative devices to serve a bigger market without compromising productivity,” said David.
